We have spent years traveling the world, honing our craft.
Our Story
Mestra Cocada
Tucson’s martial arts community recognizes Davia Moore’s wealth of knowledge accumulated over 28 years of dedication. She left her home for a decade… to train with BJJ World Champions and the Premier Mestre of Capoeira - Mestre Acordeon.
She is a highly sought after guest teacher in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil, and is one of the first African American women to graduate to the level of Mestra — an achievement comparable to a 7th Degree Black Belt in Karate.
Instructor Pirata
Peter Illetschko began his martial arts journey at six years old in the Judo Police Academy of Vienna, Austria. He has lived on five continents, visited over 60 countries…, and throughout, continued developing across multiple physical disciplines until capoeira became a defining path in 2011.
In 2013, Peter joined Mestre Acordeon on his extraordinary bicycle journey from San Francisco, California, to Salvador Bahia, Brazil. He later documented this experience in his book, Cycle of Life – My Year on a Bicycle with Mestre Acordeon.
We carry the lineage of Mestre Bimba and Mestre Acordeon, and take the responsibility to promote values of excellence, dedication, and community service very seriously.
